Introducing Core Stories Counselling.
Providing you with a safe, collaborative, and creative virtual & in-person space to explore your stories.
Counselling Approach
At Core Stories Counselling, we believe that everyone has a depth of knowledge and resources within themselves. It is through collaboration and encouragement that we may explore any challenges and barriers within ourselves and our lives. Together, we will begin collaborating to understand the power of your own story, words, and narrative, and how they impact your current-day mental health. This space is one in which you may have your story heard, honoured, and explored. We work with adults and youth (14 years +).
About
My name is Ali Denno and I am a registered clinical counsellor with the BCACC. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and my Masters in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. At Core Stories, we will begin to explore creative and expressive forms of healing as I incorporate a variety of therapeutic approaches such as Adlerian counselling, narrative therapy, trauma-informed, and expressive arts-based- all of which recognize that you know your story best.
My work and volunteer experiences include peer support for those in recovery from eating disorders at The Looking Glass Foundation, one-on-one counselling at Jewish Family Services, and facilitating therapeutic creative writing workshops on grief and loss, finding community, and anxiety. This work has informed my areas of practice in anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, shame and guilt, burnout, caregiver burnout, grief and loss, loneliness, and processing life changes and transitions.
“Human beings are naturally resilient - if others don't stand in their way with judgment and stigma.”
